Rose Leatrice Bordeaux, 58, was born June 9, 1912 at White River and lived in that area. She lived in Rapid City for the past three years and died Aug. 29 and a hospital there. She was survived by one daughter, Minerva, a nurse at Rapid City. Also two sons: Harold and Army Officer at Fort Sill, Okla., and Willard of Vermillion. Other survivors include three sisters: Sopia Bordeaux of Mission, Mary Hunger of Mission, and Lena Telford of Rapid City, and one brother: Francis Bordeaux of White River. Wilson Bronco Bill, a 43 year old tribal member living at White River, was shot and died Monday afternoon, Jan. 11, near White River. Mr. Bronco Bill was born April 14, 1927. He is survived by his wife and several children. (Rosebud Sioux Herald, 18 January 1971)

Grover C. Burnette Sr. dies at 76. Burnette, father of Indian civil rights leader Robert P. Burnette, died April 21 at the VA Hospital in Hot Spings from cancer. The White River rancher was also a former tribal judge, tribal councilman, and treasurer for the Rosebud Sioux Tribe. Funeral servcies were at Trinity Episcopal Church in Mission with burial at Calvary Cemetery in Rosebud. A WWI veteran, Burnette was the son of the late John Burnette. He was survived by his wife Winnie and nine children. (Rosebud Sioux Herald, 27 April 1970)

Nelson Eagle Pipe, 43, died at 8:15am Dec. 5 at the Rosebud PHS hospital after a three-year illness. He was born at White River Aug. 21, 1927 in the Twin Butte area. He was a resident of White River at the time of death. Final services were held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church and burial was at the White River Catholic cemetery on Dec. 8. Mr. Eagle Pipe was survived by one sister, Veronica Eagle Pipe Brave; two brothers: Owen Eagle Pipe of White River and Leonard Eagle Pipe, tribal policeman at White River; and one half-brother, Arthur Eagle Pipe, Parmelee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Eagle Pipe and the former Mary Six Toes. (Rosebud Sioux Herald, 14 December 1970)
