Families: The following families were living along the creek in 1885: End of Creek, Mule, Fast Crow, Provancial, Up Mouth, Stinking Eye, Suffering Bear, Do Lots Things, White Wolf, John Wright, John O'Brian, and W.A. Bonser.

Issue Station:Soldier Creek Community did not have an issue station or Boss Farmer, people had to travel to Rosebud to conduct business.

Location: Soldier Creek Community lies north of Rosebud along Soldier Creek Road and on SD Highway 18 where Soldier Creek Road meets the highway.

Origins: This community is named after Soldier Creek which meanders through the area.
