Allan Bordeaux was born July 5, 1905 and died Aug. 7, 1970. From his marriage to the former May LaCroix, ten children were born, three sons and seven daughters. He was preceded in death by two sons and two daughters, and his wife. Surviving children include: Ralph Bordeaux of Rosebud, Mrs. Norma Crispino of New York City, Mrs. Delores Klanderude of Minneapolis, Mrs. Adeline Johnson of Minneapolis, Mrs. Audrey Haukinson of Carver, Minn., Madonna Bordeaux of Rosebud. Funeral services were held at the CYO Center in Rosebud with burial in the St. Francis Mission Cemetery. (Rosebud Sioux Herald, 31 August 1970)

Frederick Aaron Gilbert, 22, died April 24 in a one-car accident about 4 miles south of Rosebud. He was born August 25, 1948 at Wood to William (Bill) and Ida Gilbert. He attended schools at Rosebud, Wagner, Ft. Thompson, Little Eagle and McLaughlin. Mr. Gilbert was united in Holy Matrimony to Francine Shoots Enemy on February 18, 1968. To this union two children were born, Denise Lynn and Frederick Francis Jr. A wake for Mr. Gilbert was held at Clark Hall in Rosebud Monday and Tuesday evenings with funeral services at the Church of Jesus Wednesday and burial in the Episcopal cemetery overlooking Rosebud. Survivors include: his wife and children, his parents, sisters Mildred and Deloris, and brothers Clifford, Robert and Elmer. Two brothers preceded him in death; Dennis Allen in Korea in 1950 and William Jr. in 1961. (Rosebud Sioux Herald, 3 and 10 May 1971)

Roy F. Giroux was born Sept. 6, 1900. He died Dec. 31 at Albany, OR, where he was visiting, at the age of 70 years, 3 months, 25 days. He married Julie Presho May 13, 1919. She preceded him in death in 1950. He later married Olivia Valandra. Roy Jr. and Violet were born of the first union. Carmen, Rosie, and William of the second. He was also survived by a brother, Claude and a sister, Mrs. Pearl Jones. Funeral services were held at Rosebud CYO with burial in Trinity Cemetery in Rosebud. He was a WWI veteran.

Edward M. Jordan Jr., 7 years old, climbed up onto the roof of his parent's Sioux 400 home in Rosebud a little bit after noon Friday, July 24, to recover a plastic jump rope that had been thrown up there. Police said he apparently grabbed hold of the electric wires leading into the house and touched the grounded pipe at the same time. Edward was laid to rest at St. Francis Mission cemetery after services at the CYO Center in Rosebud. He was survived by his parents, Edward and Angie (DeCory) Jordan, and several brothers and one sister. (Rosebud Sioux Herald, 3 August 1970)

William J. "Buzz" LaPointe, former treasurer of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, died May 16 at Rapid City while on business for the Rosebud Housing Authority. He was 53. (Rosebud Sioux Herald, 24 May 1971)

Robert James Randall was born at Norris on April 27, 1927. He went to school at Hisle and Pine Ridge then served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He had six children by three marriages: Duane, June, Roland, Bobby, Cleota, and Jimmy Dean. He was living in Rosebud at the time of his death with his youngest son Jimmy Dean. Wake and mass were held at the CYO Center in Rosebud April 16th with burial at St. Francis Cemetery. He was survived by his parents and his children. (Rosebud Sioux Herald, 3 May 1971)

Donald P. Shields Him, a quiet popular ex-Navy man was found dead near Spring Creek. He was born April 11, 1947 and died Jaunuary 3, 1971 at the age of 23. He attended St. Francis school and graduated from Flandreau Indian High School. Mr. Shields Him served in the U.S. Navy for four years and was in the reserve at the time of his death. Last rites were at St. Francis in the Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by both of his parents. He was survived by Mr. and Mrs. Adam Bordeaux, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bordeaux, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Bordeaux, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rabbitt, Mr. and Mrs. Clement Valandra Jr., Mr. and Mrs. John Shaw, Mrs. Edna Leighton and Jake Shields Him.
